If you haven’t had enough messy weather, there’s more to come.
Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Moncton and Southeast New Brunswick.
A low pressure is expected to rapidly intensify as it approaches from Nova Scotia today and tonight.
Meteorologist Stephen Hatt says, “It is going to affect the whole province to some degree, although the eastern areas are going to be affected the most. It is fast moving to start, but it is going to stall southeast of Nova Scotia and then gradually drift off to the east Thursday night into Friday. The winds are going to continue into Thursday night even though the snow is going to taper off to flurries.”
Up to 30 centimetres of snow is forecast to fall before the storm wraps up late tomorrow afternoon.
High winds of up to 80 kilometres an hour are expected as well, which could mean visibility issues in whiteout conditions.
The winds will also bring large waves and heavy pounding surf along the coast of the Gulf of St. Lawrence waters tonight and Thursday. Higher than normal water levels can be expected near high tide.
