A global movement of giving and volunteering following Black Friday and Cyber Monday is starting to gain momentum across Canada.
Giving Tuesday will be held November 27th and it was co-founded by the non-profit charity Canada Helps in 2013.
President/CEO Marina Glogovac says Giving Tuesday has become the opening of the giving season.
“When charities, companies, individuals – I mean all of us – really join together and rally for our favourite causes.”
She adds the day is designed to not only inspire kindness and generosity but also raise awareness about the importance of helping others.
Giving Tuesday has spread to more than 150 countries around the world.
More than 80 charities and organizations are taking part in New Brunswick including NBCC which is supporting an emergency student fund.
