It could get a bit dicey for travel later on today.
A low pressure system will pass south of New Brunswick tonight, and Environment Canada has issued snowfall warnings as a result.
Meteorologist Mel Lemmon says the snow is expected to begin at around noon in the western part of the province and spread from there, “Temperatures are hovering around the zero degree mark, so it could be a bit slippery, with sticky snow, and a bit of wind in there so potentially we could get as much as 25 centimetres which is quite a lot for this time of year. It could get messy tonight.”
Lemmon says the storm will really intensify into the evening hours, and continue overnight.
Winds will be gusting up to 60 kilometres an hour.
He adds this will be heavy, wet snow, so that could end up weighing down power lines.
