Officials with the Greater Moncton International Airport confirm talks are underway to try and secure a direct flight from the Hub City to St. John’s, Newfoundland.
The Greater Moncton Chamber of Commerce has been lobbying for that flight along with another direct link to the northeastern United States.
Chamber president Carol O’Reilly says a direct flight to New York is sorely missed by the business crowd.
“In the past, we had a direct flight to New York. You know, the flight was going well but because the airline itself was having issues, it was cancelled,” she notes.
O’Reilly says a direct flight from Moncton to either New York or Boston would be ideal for businesspeople.
