Construction on a new $3.2 million fire station is now underway in northeast Moncton.
Moncton Fire Chief Eric Arsenault says the new location near the entrance of the Caledonia Industrial Park will better serve a growing area.
“This station is going to be properly situated to cover all of the future needs of our city including being able to respond to the Sunnybrae and Lewisville area of our city.”
Arsenault says the new fire station will have a 50-year lifespan.
The current station on McLaughlin Drive will close once the new station opens next spring.
