A Moncton woman is another step closer to her dream of winning Masterchef Canada.
Line (lynn) Pelletier is now one of the top 16 contestants vying for a 100-thousand dollar prize.
Pelletier says she has been a devoted fan of the show in all it’s incarnations across the world.
She says growing up in Edmundston, their family wasn’t wealthy but always had good food on the table and she associates food with positive memories.
“Cooking just makes me happy. When I’m upset I cook, when I’m happy I cook, when I’m sad I cook,” says Pelletier. “For me it’s an art form, I can lose myself in my cooking. It’s hard to explain but it’s like a part of me.”
Pelletier says her family encouraged her to try out and her daughter actually was the one who signed her up.
Pelletier adds if she wins the top prize, she plans to open a bistro with her youngest daughter that will showcase regional dishes from New Brunswick with a creative menu that will change to reflect locally available ingredients.
