Moncton-based marijuana producer Organigram has unveiled a large expansion.
The production facility has grown from 32,000 square feet to more than 100,000 square feet over three levels.
CEO Greg Engel notes the company currently has 175 employees and that number will also grow in the months ahead.
“We actually have a job fair coming up at the Delta Beausejour this weekend. We are looking to add another 100 employees by June of this year. To put that into perspective, a year ago we only had 70 people. So we’ve added 100 and we’re looking to add another 100 in the next 3 to 4 months,” he notes.

Organigram’s total marijuana production currently amounts to 16,000 kilograms per year.
After another planned expansion next year, that figure will increase again to an expected 25,000 kilograms per year.
Despite automation, Engel adds the company will likely have up to 400 employees by 2020.
