Construction has begun on transforming a park in northeast Moncton.
Fairview Knoll Park was dismantled last year so a storm water pond could be built but the park is coming back bigger and better than ever.
Spokesperson Michelle McAloon says the new playground will have a rubber surface.
“So it’s a fully accessible playground. There will be a brand new big splash pad going in, so that’s going to be really exciting for the kids that live in the neighbourhood,” she notes.
The new community park will also feature shuffleboard, paved trails, benches and a basketball court which can be converted to a skating rink in winter.
McAloon adds construction will take about three months so the park will not be open this summer.
