The numbers are in and the City of Moncton had a great year for building permits in 2017.
The value of construction permits exceeded $243 million last year.
It was another record and without the direct benefit of the Downtown Centre since it was included in 2016.
Commercial projects were lead by the expansion of Organigram, a new cold storage facility and a new hotel off Mapleton Road.
New surgical suites at the Georges Dumont Hospital and renovations to the Federal building on Main Street were the main drivers for institutional permits.
Residential development was spurred by the 55 Queen condo development along with 4 apartment buildings, 92 duplex units and 57 single family homes.
Big projects this year will include a new Hyatt Hotel next to the Downtown Centre and groundbreaking for the Junction Urban Village complex at Vaughan Harvey and Main.
