The government in a release says that the assistance program covers anything that threatenst he health and safety of individuals and communities but not something insurance is available for. Fixing an electricial panel, for example, would be covered but food loss wouldn't.
You start the application process by reporting any damages related to the ice storm by calling 1-888-298-8555.
Application forms are also available at warming centres and shelters as well as online.
