The RCMP will not be appealing their conviction and sentencing in the Canada Labour Code trial.
In a news release, the RCMP confirmed they will be paying the $550,000 penalty as handed down by Judge Leslie Jackson on January 26th.
That penalty includes a $100,000 fine, with the remaining $450,000 going to a memorial scholarship at the Université de Moncton, educational trust funds for the children of the fallen Mounties, and two other organizations.
The RCMP were found guilty of failing to provide proper equipment and training to frontline officers, in relation to the June 4th, 2014 shootings that left three officers dead, and two others wounded.
