The operations manager of the Peter McKee Community Food Centre says he doesn’t want to see jail time for whoever broke into the facility over the weekend causing damage and stealing laptop computers.
Ben MacMichael says he wants to work with that person and hopefully change their life.
But he admits he was emotional when he discovered the break-in.
“Because you put your heart and soul into wanting to help people and when you see this, at first you take it personal. But then you have to reflect and say this is the work we do and we want to help others,” he says.
MacMichael feels grateful the Food Centre has received overwhelming support including from the Anglican Diocese of New Brunswick which donated $5,000 to help cover the cost of the computers.
