For the 20th year in a row, the Sue Stultz and Moncton Firefighters Turkey Drive have reached their goal.
This year they were aiming to raise 4,241 birds to ensure turkey dinners were available for families in need.
Firefighter Chris Jackson reports they exceeded their goal, reaching 4,388 birds this year.
He says all the turkeys left over after putting together all the Christmas Food Boxes will be distributed through food banks in Southeast New Brunswick to help feed the hungry.
Yesterday morning, on the last day of the drive, they were still about 1,000 turkeys short, but a final push saw them cross the finish line.
