High Ranking And Decorated Military Officer Facing Sex Charges

The Canadian Forces National Investigation Service has charged a high ranking officer with sexual assault and related offences under the Criminal Code and the National Defence Act.

The charges involve five members of the Canadian Armed Forces at 2nd Canadian Division Support Base Valcartier and 5th Canadian Division Support Base Gagetown between January 2005 and December 2014.

Colonel Jean-François Duval, a member of the Canadian Defence Academy in Kingston, Ontario faces two counts of sexual assault, one charge of Indecent acts two counts of scandalous conduct , two charges of disgraceful conduct and three counts of prejudicing good order and discipline.

Duval was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal in 2011 after serving in Afghanistan.
