Over 30 local artists will be showcased during this weekend's Festival 506..
Spokesperson for Music New Brunswick Jean Surette musicians from right across the province will entertain starting tonight through Sunday, "It's a festival that we organize every year in October, and it moves around the province. Last year we were in Miramichi, and this year we are back in Moncton. It is a festival that highlights 100 per cent New Brunswick music."
Surette says they hold this festival because they believe it is important that we recognize the talent we have close to home, "There is amazing music being created, produced and toured from some of these artists. Some of them are touring nationally and internationally. It highlights the talent that we have. it is important that we have at least one time a year when we can celebrate our artists. We also offer them conferences where they can learn more and meet industry folks from around Canada and international delegates."
The festival gets underway on Thursday and runs until Sunday.
