The only municipally-run maple sugar camp in Canada is now open for business.
The Moncton Maple Sugar Camp opened to big crowds over the weekend.
Spokesperson Heather Fraser says the camp is not usually open in time for March Break but the sap is flowing earlier this year.
“Usually this time of the year (March Break) we’re tapping in the woods and we’re not open. But I think a lot of locals and even folks from Fredericton and Oromocto were looking for something to do with their families and sugar bush was an early option,” she notes.
The maple sugar camp is open daily between 10-am and 4-pm with free tours offered at 11 and 2.
The camp is located south of Riverview on Route 910 near the Turtle Creek watershed.
