Starting today at 6AM, new stoplights are being activated on flash mode this week at the intersection of Elmwood Drive and Granite Drive.
That intersection leads into the Granite Centre shopping plaza, which will be home to the new Costco.
The City of Moncton says flash mode is being used to get drivers accustomed to the change, starting at 6 this morning.
For the next week the signals will flash yellow on Elmwood Drive and flash red on Granite Drive.
The city is reminding people a flashing yellow means proceed with caution, while a flashing red means coming to a full and complete stop before continuing on when safe to do so.
The lights will be fully activated next Monday.
