An article has surfaced on the Internet and is making its rounds on Facebook, that has some parents concerned about Halloween….
It states that Premier Brian Gallant and the RCMP have set a 4:30pm curfew for Halloween this year. This article was posted on a satirical website called “The Manatee”.
RCMP Corporal Chantal Farrah says this is untrue, “We have been receiving a few calls from the public asking if there is a curfew in New Brunswick and we have been informing them that this thing that is floating on Facebook is false.”
She says, “As parents, we play a big role in deciding curfews with our kids, and we need to make sure that when we’re sending our kids off on Halloween night, when it starts to get dark, that’s when we should start wrapping things up on Halloween night.”
Curfews are set as bylaws by individual communities, but the usual suggested time to wrap up your trick or treating on Halloween is 8pm.
