Over a thousand fans came out to see The Moncton Magic on their home court at the Coliseum for the first game of the season..
They didn’t manage a win against the St. John’s Edge, but Head Coach Joe Salerno says they’ll continue to build on their commitment to the Hub City from here, “We have put an awful lot of work into this over the last several months, so to see it come to fruition and see the final product to show to pour fans, we are all very excited about it.”
Officials from the team put a lot of focus on recruitment, “They’re really bringing a couple of really big names as far as players to Moncton this year. Guys like Anthony Anderson and Terry Thomas who were first team all league players last year, they decided to sign with us this off season. So I think that was showing fans that we are committed to putting a competitive team on the courts,” Salerno says.
Salerno expects fans will see a better atmosphere at the games this season at the Coliseum, with an entertaining product, on and off the court.
The Moncton Magic didn’t get the win in their first game of the season. The final score last night was 96 to 89 for the St. John’s Edge.
