Several MLAs taking time in the legislature today to send condolences to the family of Rebecca Schofeld.

The inspirational Riverview teen died Feb. 17 at the age of 18 after a battle with brain cancer.

Premier Brian Gallant says Becca had a kind heart and had long been puzzled about why anyone would be unkind to others.

"Becca's kindness and love for others has made New Brunswick, Canada and the rest of world a better place," says Gallant. "Throughout her battle with cancer, Becca's action have inspired each and every one of us to show kindness to others."

"The #BeccaToldMeTo was her attempt was her attempt to leave the world a better place, to make her short time here on this earth count."

Progressive Conservative MLA Bruce Fitch says each September, when we celebrate Becca Schofield Day, we will be reminded of a wonderful soul.

"A remarkable young lady who faced the end of her life while encouraging others to find the best within themselves," says Fitch. "Becca's funeral ended the first chapter of her story. We look forward to the second chapter which has yet to be written."

Green Party leader David Coon also offered his condolences to Becca's family.

"Rebecca will always be remembered, never forgotten, for the many, many acts of kindness that she inspired among New Brunswickers and in fact among people around the world," says Coon.
