Double Digit Highs In December?

It isn't common that we see double digit highs in December in Greater Moncton.

Meteorologist Linda Libby tells us we're looking at forecasted highs of 10 degrees for today in Greater Moncton.

"It's a little out of the ordinary, but it really depends on the weather system and how strong or how big it is, how much wind we're going to get with it, if it starts tapping the warm air out of the Continental U.S., or if it starts tapping the warm air out of down in more sub-tropical or tropical areas," says Libby.

"This is quite a large low pressure system so it's tapping the air from furthur south and bringing it up over us, so we're looking at temperatures well above normal for this time of year. Normal temperatures sit at around 1 degree."

These warmer temperatures aren't going to stick around though.

We'll dip back down to more seasonable norms by Friday, with a chance of flurries in the forecast that night.
