Hundreds of runners and walkers are expected to lace up their sneakers this weekend to raise money for breast cancer research.
The annual CIBC Run for the Cure will be held on Sunday.
District Coordinator for the Canadian Cancer Society Jill Myers says they're expecting around 650 participants in Moncton this year, "There are a lot of survivors involved, but the majority of participants are running for someone else. Before I was with the Canadian Cancer Society, I ran for my grandmother who I lost to breast cancer, and also an Aunt who survived."
The Run is the single largest, single day, volunteer led event dedicated to raising funds for breast cancer research, support services, health education and advocacy programs.
There is still time to register in Moncton. You can register online, or before the event at the park.
Opening ceremonies at Centennial Park will be held at around 1pm, and the run and walk both start at 2pm on Sunday.
