An Early Childhood Education Instructor at NBCC in Miramichi is being recognized.
Nancy Hallihan-Sturgeon received a National Inclusive Education Award from the New Brunswick Association for Community Living.
Vice-President of Employee and Student Development Suzanne Desrosiers says Nancy’s passion for inclusive education and community service is evident in everything she does, in and outside the classroom. She has promoted and engaged students in volunteer activities to promote diversity and inclusion.
“Not only does Nancy foster respect for inclusion and diversity in her classrooms but she is nurturing that respect in her students who will take it with into their early childhood education careers.”
The National Inclusive Education Awards are given to New Brunswickers, schools and organizations that work every day to include all students in education and school life.
The awards presentation was held at Government House. It helps to mark National Inclusive Education Month in New Brunswick.
