The rain didn’t keep any of the truckers away from raising awareness about cancer.
50 trucks, 3 fire trucks, one ambulance, two RCMP vehicles, along with motorcycles all took part in this past weekend’s Convoy for Hope.
Pledges from participants and registrations brought in close to $8000, and with the money raised through the remaining activities, they are hoping for a total of $30, 000.
Spokesperson Joanne Phillips says there were also many volunteers who helped with the convoy, including some who came from as far away as England and they were of all ages, including one boy who was only 10 years old.
The Convoy raises awareness and funds of the four most prominent cancers in Atlantic Canada, breast, prostate, colon and lung.
