Alward concedes the province is the most uncompetitive jurisdiction in the country when it comes to property taxation but says the government is trying make changes to improve the system.
The Premier also inviting First Nations Chiefs from across the province to meet with him next week, saying he wants to instill a new spirit of cooperation and better relationship with First Nations and identify the right path forward for our province. The relationship has been strained over shale gas development on First Nations land and the protests near Rexton which turned violent with police cars being set ablaze and protestors getting arrested.
