Liberal Leader Brian Gallant claims there's an extra $250 million to be found in the provincial budget through smarter cuts and strategic investment.

Gallant says cutting everything across the board like this government has done has simply driven this province further into debt.

The LIberals previously announced $63 million in measures they say they would implement to improve the province's financial state, and more details on their job creation plan will be emerging in the coming weeks.

Former Prime Minister Paul Martin has publically endorsed Gallant's proposals.
