GRAND FALLS, N.B. – The provincial government has formally signed a cooperation agreement with the State of Louisiana.
The deal was struck to foster productive exchanges between the two regions especially in the fields of education, culture, and tourism.
A growing interest from New Brunswick’s Acadian and Louisiana’s Cajun communities paved the way for increased relations.
Premier David Alward and Louisiana State Senator Eric Kenneth Lafleur signed the agreement yesterday in Grand Falls in conjunction with the ongoing World Acadian Congress.
