Around 3900 households and commercial properties are affected by a boil water order that is currently in effect in the City of Moncton.
The advisory was issued last night, after a major water main break.
City spokesperson Isabelle Leblanc says they are flushing the system to lower the turbidity to acceptable levels and residents could see some discolouration and also experience low pressure.
She also states that this is a precautionary order, that was issued by the Department of Health.
The Moncton Hospital was only affected for about 5 minutes last night, so it is not under a boil water advisory. As for schools that are affected, water fountains have been taped off, and water coolers and cups are being provided.
Leblanc says there is no word yet on what caused the water main break.
An advisory will be sent out when the boil water order is lifted.
