A 17-year-old boy from Cocagne has been arrested and will face charges in court today following a series of events in Moncton Thursday afternoon.

Codiac RCMP Sergeant Andre Pepin says police received reports about a young man with a gun in his pants near Lorne Street and Snow Avenue.

But  a search with a police dog turned up nothing.

Around 3:30, officers were called to a single vehicle rollover at Berry Mills Road and Edinburgh Drive.

Eyewitnesses told police the driver fled into the woods and his description matched the earlier call.

A police dog located a male teenager and officers seized a replica handgun.

Sergeant Pepin says the vehicle was stolen and investigators believe the suspect was under the influence of drugs and alcohol.
