A special personalized rock garden is now a part of the playground for students at Hillcrest school..
Each of the students painted a rock, using whatever colours and design they wanted, and over 150 were placed in the garden last night during their annual beautification night.
Each one contained a little bit of the students personality and interests.
Parent Nadine Lipton says parents, students and staff put on their gardening gloves, and pulled weeds, spread soil and planted shrubs, "When the kids do this, they can see how much work goes into landscaping and keeping things nice, and they get to be proud of their school because it looks amazing. Sometimes the smaller the school, the more participation. There are a lot of families here, and a large showing to help out."
Lipton says the rock garden helps to get the kids involved, and makes them feel even more of a part of their school community.
Hillcrest School is a Kindergarten to grade 8 school located on Parlee Drive in Moncton.
