Pre-sales for Brier tickets are ongoing, but the committee behind the Brier bid, has decided to change to amount of deposit required on your tickets.
Chair of the Brier bid Committee Jacques Robichaud says they are reducing the amount from $100 to $50, "We've been getting responses from people that are saying that they felt the $100 deposit was a bit much for an event that will only be held in two years."
Robichaud says the City of Moncton has to have their bid in to Curling Canada by June 30th, "Ticket presales need to be done by June 25th, so we have enough time to our numbers together and complete our application to send in. The pre-sales of tickets are just one part of our bid."
He adds if Moncton is awarded the Brier in 2019. It would be the first big event for the new downtown entertainment centre, and the economic impact will be in the range of at least $15 million.
