The much sought after summer camp program is growing this summer thanks to an expansion at the Magnetic Hill Zoo’s education centre.
Spokesperson Cathy Simon notes the 2,000 square feet of additional space includes two classrooms which can become one thanks to a collapsable wall.
“Those classrooms are full of cubbies and lockers with smart boards in each. We have a larger kitchen, we have a staff washroom, more washrooms for the campers and a humungous supply room.”
Simon adds the summer camp program can now expand from 500 kids to 825 and she adds there are still 100 spaces left.
The $400,000 cost of the program has been split equally between the City and the federal government’s Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program.
