Apple Day is a fundraising tradition that started right here in New Brunswick back in 1932 in Saint John. 21,000 apples were handed out as a way for Scouting to say ``Thank You” to the community. As a result donations were made to Scouts in return for receiving an apple. Since then, each October, Scouting groups have hit the community to raise funds towards improving the Scouting programs by providing more outdoor Adventures for youth, camping equipment, training and many more other endeavours.
This year on Saturday, October 14th be on the lookout for your Moncton Scouts. They will be canvassing all over the Greater Moncton Area looking for donations in exchange for Apples!
